Bowling League Thursday

We had our Christmas celebration at the bowling alley tonight and we got to bring in snacks and gifts. I forgot (again) to take a picture while I was at the bowling alley, but my dear friend Lisa brought me a huge tin of homemade candy so when I got home I did snap a picture of it. She is so awesome.

Night Out With Friends

I was lucky enough to get a chance to hang out with my great friends DJ & Jordi tonight. We went to eat at Galloway Station and then did some shopping at Barnes & Noble before topping off the evening with ice cream at Braums. It's always so relaxing to spend time with these two, they are the greatest.

Kiddos

Over the weekend, Charlie and Jessica gave me a copy of their school pictures so today I carried them to work and proudly displayed them on my cubicle walls. I can't believe how big they are getting.

Lunar Eclipse

This technically happened on Tuesday Dec. 21st, since it happened after midnight, but I haven't gone to bed yet so it's still Monday to me. I was at work so I didn't get to come outside and get as many phases as I wanted, but I'm pretty happy with what I did get.

My Favorite

I hadn't been down to Sunday dinner at Grandma's in a few weeks because I'm a slacker and because my schedule is just really screwed up right now. It's hard to make myself get up early and be there around noon when I know I've got to be at work at midnight that night and stay awake and functional until 8:00am on Monday morning. But every time I'm not there I get several calls and messages about how much they missed me and will I be there next week. How can you ignore that? I had to go see everyone. So I made it there just a few minutes before lunch was served and then hung out afterwards to play Boggle and watch football. Suddenly, several hours after lunch was over with, I got a craving for chocolate chip cookies. They are my favorite cookie in the world and for some reason, the people I hang out with never make them. No bakes are being made constantly and peanut butter cookies show up now and again. But never chocolate chip. When I mentioned they sounded good, Grandma said she had a bag of chocolate chips I could use to make some if I wanted. So I whipped up a batch real quick. They were good and they hit the spot... although my cousins have about a bazillion children between them so I only got 2 cookies. But it was fun making them and it did help with my craving. And I have to give a big shout-out to Kyle and Emma who did most of the work mixing them up.

How The Hell Do You Wear This Thing?

Yesterday my cousin Sabrina came up to Springfield to do some Christmas shopping and she stopped by to pick me up so we could spend some time together. We had a good day and I think she got a lot of shopping accomplished. I do feel bad that I started getting pretty tired (she picked me up after I got off work so I was getting loopy from lack of sleep) but I hung in there and hopefully didn't ramble too much. At one of the stores we stopped at I found a cute winter hat for only $5. I see lots of people wearing this type of hat and I was excited I found one that I liked.

This morning I got a chance to cut the tags off of it and model it for myself to make sure I didn't look like a dork before I wore it out in public. Unfortunately, I do look like a dork. How the hell do you wear this thing? Is my head just a funny shape or what? If I wear it where it feels comfortable, I'm a conehead. Did I just waste $5.

Sunrise

I used to be on my way to work during sunrise, now I'm smoking a cigarette on my last break before going home. Either way, it's still pretty.

Something's Not Right Here

It's never a good thing to come in to work and discover that the server that holds your desktop profile has been decommissioned. Oops. I guess I'll be making some easy money tonight.

Lazy People Eat Like This

I've been a real slacker recently with the housework and with cooking dinner. Partly because I'm still playing a lot of Cataclysm and partly because... okay, I guess it's just because I'm playing a lot of Cataclysm. So this is what lazy people eat. In case you can't tell, it's nachos. And it's a sideways picture but I'm too lazy to fix it.

Christmas Decorations

I put up some lights and a few decorations in my cubicle tonight! I can't wait until I one day have a huge house and lots of kids to decorate for.

Game Break

I took last night and tonight off work to work on leveling my character up to 85 and I have spent so much time sitting at the computer, I decided I should at least get out of the house and go to Walmart to do some walking around. It felt really good. In fact, I ended up walking around Walmart for about an hour even though I only needed sour cream. Since the store's only 1 mile from the house, I should totally do that more often.

First Snow On The Ground This Season

So pretty. I love snow. This one came overnight and I do prefer it to snow during the day so I can watch it, but at least it's here. Yay!

Christmas Shopping

My biggest little sister came up to hang out with me tonight and we hit the town to do some Christmas shopping. We started off eating at Fazoli's and then hit Best Buy and Target where I loaded up several bags. After we left Target we both had a bit of a sweet tooth, so even though it was about 23 degrees outside, we stopped off at ColdStone Creamery for some ice cream. Once we got back to my house, we watched the 1944 Judy Garland movie "Meet Me In St. Louis". Great movie, great night with my sister.

Err... What?

Driving home from work this morning I noticed this, uh, this... uh... what would you call this? A mini rainbow? No, cause there's no bow to it at all. An anti-rainbow? I have no idea, but it was definitely a splash of color in the middle of an otherwise gray sky. If anyone knows what this is, please let me know.

Larry and I bowled by ourselves tonight because Lisa was in Chicago on a business trip and Scott was in St. Louis on a business trip.

Cataclysm Collector's Edition

Finally, my copy of Cataclysm has arrived. You'll notice this looks different than the copies in the picture I posted yesterday. That's because those were just the normal, every day copies that WalMart was selling. I bought the Collector's Edition. I mean, this is my main hobby so I might as well do it right, right?

Launch Day!

Today the new World of Warcraft expansion launched. This blog is going to be a little WoW-centric for a while as I indulge in my addiction.

Frosty Windows

When I got in my car this morning, the frost on the windows looked like perfect little snowflakes.

Around The Hood

Took a random walk around the area today, just to get out of the house and get some sunshine. This is just around the corner from my house and it just cracked me up that because there wasn't a house built in this spot yet, no one was maintaining the sidewalk.

Silver Dollar City - Christmas Edition

Silver Dollar City - ChristmasI love seeing the lights at SDC during Christmas, so tonight I met Mom, Ruthie, Charlie and Jessica in Branson at Golden Corral where we stuffed ourselves before heading over to the park. The weather was pretty decent for this time of year, but that meant the crowd was humongous. We really didn't get to see many shops or let the kids do many rides. But we did see the tree lighting, which I LOVE, and we watched the light parade before heading over to stand in line for the show "A Dicken's Christmas Carol". The picture above is from the light parade but I have a lot more pictures for your viewing pleasure here.

First Friday Art Walk - Winter Edition

On the first Friday of every month, all year long, downtown Springfield holds First Friday Art Walk where the downtown shops, restaurants, galleries and bars all showcase local talent. There are street performers out, live music in many places, paintings and photography exhibits, all sorts of cool stuff going on. I guess it's kind of hard to explain. But it's cool. It's hip. It's trendy. And sadly, even though I live here, I've now officially been to 3 of them. I need to fix that and start going to way more.

Anywho, tonight I got to hang out with DJ & Jordi (yay!) and we went downtown and watched the movie Due Date (hilarious)and then walked over to the Mudhouse and grabbed some hot chocolate before walking around and seeing what there was to see. I brought along my camera because since it's December, there was a contest going on for the best window display so I figured there'd be some really pretty stuff to see. And there was. Unfortunately I took about 2 pictures and then my battery died. Fail. I did get this pic while DJ & Jordi were inside ordering my hot chocolate and I was outside smoking. Why do they put up with me?

I seriously love being downtown. I guess I'm going to have to learn to go do things by myself more often because I rarely find someone to go with me and I that means I just don't go. Maybe with my camera in hand I can get away with walking around by myself. Maybe people will think I'm a photographer and not a loser. Lol.

Bowling League Thursday

This week we were surprised to see our team was listed in 1st place for the current session. Woot! I'm sure it won't last long, but we've got bragging rights for now. Here's a pic of Scott.

Back To Work

After missing last night with a headache everything is back to normal and I'm well-rested and back to work. This is daybreak over the parking lot during my last break.
